Original Work Research

This week has been very informational. I learned tons of valuable information about Dogs with separation anxiety for my original work project . The dogs go through many things such as accidents or miss treatment from the owners, and many other things. The responses to separation anxiety can be all over the place depending on the dog. Separation anxiety can go unnoticed for a while especially when owners are gone all day, Especially when the dogs aren’t used to them being gone for such long periods of time. There are different sub classes that dogs are diagnosed by. Each sub class is identified by different factors such as signs of destructive Ness or phobias of being alone and attempting to hide in what is deemed “a safe place”. I researched how dogs could be affected by being raised in an environment where they are constantly around their owner/owners, and the results showed how if they are It’s in environment with this constant human contact and are not treated that same way as they become older it is expected for the cases of separation anxiety in dogs to increase. Especially with “Covid dogs”. The dogs are dogs that were born and raised during the Covid pandemic where everyone was inside, however once those owners left to go back to work there will be an increase in dogs with separation anxiety since they are not used to the loss of contact. This next week I plan on doing more research about what are ways to lessen the chance of separation anxiety with dogs who were originally raised in constant contact and making more calls to professionals to schedule another interview.
